Everything went great Saturday! The parade was a success and opening day was a hit. There was a lot of people that came out and supported the little girls playing softball and the girls had a great time! The diamond bears lost their first game but had a fun time, which is what counts. The Orange Tigers won their game 18-8. Both teams did a great job for their first games and I am so proud of both teams!
The PG middle school did not turn out a win Sarurday. They were a little rough around the edges. They did a good job at making contact with the ball but always seemed to hit it right to the other team. We always made some mental errors, I think some must have been still asleep, haha. All in all we had a great day! Now we just have to win the rest of our games in order to get into the playoffs. So wish them luck!
This blog is about the wonderful world of baseball. To be more exact, My boyfriend's baseball team. He is a volunteer coach for the Pleasant Grove Middle School baseball team and has been doing it for four years. I keep the score book for the team and have a blast in the stands with the parents. This is a wild ride and you just never know what will happen throughout the season..... so stay tuned!!!!

So, we took the time to take our old, outdated helmets and try to give them a new look. Me and Nathan spray painted them all over white, which took a little while. Then had brand new black PGs made and I must say that they look pretty awesome especially under the lights at night. I posted a picture of the helmets under the action shots to see.
Crazy weeks
The past couple of weeks have just been crazy in the baseball world. We have been on the road and then having home games as well. I have not even had time to try to do all the players averages or stats or anything. Oh yeah, have I mentioned that I have two softballs teams that I help with as well. The first team is little and has girls ranging from 3 to 6 and they are called the Diamond Bears. The second team is the Tigers and they are a little older. They are 7 to 9. Both teams are really good at softball and they have a great time. We have only been practicing and we don't start playing games until this upcoming Saturday. Saturday is going to be a huge day! To start off with at 8 we have the girls softball parade. After the parade they have opening ceremonies and introduce each girl and coach. This is normally a lot of fun. After the ceremonies, my team will not play yet but Nathan's team plays two games against McAdory. So, after the first of his game is over, my girls will play their games which are only 45 minutes each. Then after those are over I go back to watch the second game of the boys and to keep the book. Then after all of out games are over hopefully I can get something to eat, haha. But it should be a fun filled day and I can't wait for Saturday to come!!!

Baseball season has offically started!!!
So, we are offically started baseball games finally. I has only seemed like forever that we have had to wait. Our first day of games was last tuesday, March the first. We played a double header against Bottenfield Tigers. The first game the Spartans lost to the Tigers 7-4 which was pitched by Caleb Webb (5 innings), Matt White(1 inning) and Bronson Myers (1 innning). Both teams played a great game. In this game we had eight hits.
The hits were made by: Matt White, Brandon White, Kelvin Moore, Seth Grammer, Bronson Myers, DeQuan Johnson and Caleb Webb had two hits.
Caleb Webb also had the only two RBIs of the game.
In our second game against the Tigers the Spartans won 14-0 that was pitched by Blake Bruce. In this game there were nine hits and seven RBIs. Kelvin Moore had the first homerun of the season in this game as well.
The hits went to: Matt White(2 hits), Brandon White(2 hits), Kelvin Moore (2 hits), Seth Grammer, Blake Bruce and Drake Hoover.
The RBIs were made by: Matt White, Brandon White(2 RBIs), Kelvin Moore(2 hits) and Blake Bruce(2 RBIs).
Besides having two good games to watch, we had a lot of fun in the stands and was able to meet some very nice people. I had the pleasure to meet Coach Holder's wife, which also attends UAB and is majoring in education just like I am myself. We were sitting watching the game when Coach Holder asked if she would keep up with a few things in another unoffical score book, which she had no clue how to do. So, me and Mrs. Webb tried to teach her as they played their game and it was a very funny experience trying to get her to understand and us trying to explain as we are still trying to keep up with everything throughout the two games, but I think she got the basic skill of it down finally.
After the games were over it was around 10 and nobody had ate any dinner. So, everybody left to go get something to eat and it just so happened that everybody ran into everybody else at the nearest McDonalds. Shocker, huh? The only thing opened at 10 o'clock on a tuesday night. All in all it was a great game.

The Crew
Welcome to the dugout! I'm Kimberlee and I keep the score book for the Pleasant Grove Middle School baseball team. My boyfriend is Nathan Langston, who all the kids call Coach Langston, and he is the assistant coach. Coach Holder is the Head Coach and this is his first year at Pleasant Grove, along with his brother who we all call Coach H2. There are 14 young men that play with pride for the school and always do a wonderful job in representing Pleasant Grove with great talent. Then we have all the great supportive parents that take the kids to and from all the practices and games and they are also the team's biggest fans. We have crazy awesome games because we always play double headers against other schools and even crazier times in the stands. We hope that you will join us for our fun and crazy year of baseball. Like we say, The more the merrier! GO SPARTANS!!!
